This month's item is something that I keep in my car, it goes everywhere with me and it used to belong to my nan.
When my nan passed away two years ago my mum told me and my brothers and sisters that we could all pick something from my nan's jewellery box.
My nan had some beautiful jewellery and I knew I wanted something that would always make me think of her so I picked this:
To me it sums up my nan completely. She had been in the Land Army during the war, she had been a nurse at Bernardo's looking after 10 babies at a time and, even though she was a pensioner, she had been a volunteer helper for Help The Aged. Always ready to be involved, always ready to help.
Now it's your turn to head over to Sian's and tell your story.
I'll be back soon with posts about the things I was getting up to in June, when I failed miserably to get anything on the blog!
Hope your weekend is going well
Jo x

It's good to see you back blogging Jo :o)
Thanks for sharing your lovely keepsake.
Nice to see you blogging and what a lovely memento and memories.
A lovely story, and a beautiful way to remember your nan!
How lovely. Another story about strong women. I love it!
What a good choice from your Nan's box.
It's good to see you back!
What a precious thing this is..I can almost feel it in my hand as I look at it, and it's so evocative. When I look at it I can conjure up pictures of Land Girls. It's lovely.
I love this, Jo. I would much rather have something symbolic like your grandmother's badge than any shiny piece of jewelry. So lovely.
That's a very precious brooch, very evocative too. A lovely memento to have and must bring your nan very close whenever you see it. Thanks for sharing. J x
What a wonderful reminder of her Jo x
Sometimes an object encapsulates so much from someone. Thanks for sharing this precious with us and for making us know more about your nan. xoxo from France
she sounds like a wonderful person,I would have picked that too.
What a lovely keepsake from a lovely woman! You are so lucky to have it.
A lovely keepsake with lots of memories associated with it, Jo!

That is a lovely memento! Your Nan sounds like a remarkable woman. There is just something special about someone who thinks of the needs of others first.
I love jewelry that has history and meaning - what a great piece and you Nan sounds like a very special lady!
I recognised that badge straight away. My Dad has a very similar one and I spent a lot of my childhood at our local Legion which is sadly now housing. I'm glad its special to you. x
Firstly I'm sorry for your loss. Losing a beloved Nan and Granddad in two years takes some time to get over but you have a lovely memory here in this story Jo.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a message.
