Since my very hectic weekend I've had a couple of relaxing evenings and it's been great. Yesterday it rained all day but it was great, we've hardly had any rain since March so it made a refreshing change. It was also lovely to come home from work, close the door and curl up on the sofa with Alfie watching TV.
I thought I'd show you a quick layout I did the other day. My style of actually scrapping has changed this year. I find a photo, select some papers and embellishments and then stick it all down. I've stopped looking at papers and thinking that I might find a better photo to go with it and saving it, after all the layouts and papers stay in my albums so it's not like I'll never see them again!
I love this picture of Maddie taken on the EuroTunnel in 1995, just after her first birthday. It's been literally gathering dust for ages and I knew it would drive me mad if I didn't get it scrapped soon!
I used Echo Park - For the Record papers that came in the Sarah's Cards April kit and just threw a few other bits and pieces on.
All day at work I've been dreaming about the 6 layouts I want to do tonight, the magazines I bought today that I want to read and some knitting I want to get done, now that I'm home I'm too tired to do anything! Work just gets in the way of all of the fun stuff :)
I hope you have a great evening

Yes I agree work does stop the fun stuff. Lovely layout. I used to be like you and agonise over the right paper etc but now I just get on with it and stick it down! Hope you manage to do your fun stuff soon.
Love your layout, great title! I know what you mean about work getting in the way, still it means you can justify your scrapbooking purchases I guess!
Love your LO..and I too have stopped saving paper and enjoy using it now

love the layout and I'm trying to do the same as you!
such a cute layout and I too LOVE those Echo Park papers!!
You are absolutely right - use them up because there'll be another nice collection along in a minute!
This is such a great layout Jo and a fab way of working too. I love the layering effect and the zingy colours - it's gorgeous :)
Just like you, I've finally found myself able to get those pretty papers onto layouts just lately!! I'm glad you did, this layout is gorgeous :)
(And so true about that pesky work, bleh!)
A great 'clean' layout which I love. I really like the Jenni Bowlin (?) pennant flags that you have used - they add just the right touch. Thanks for sharing :)
Maybe there is something in the air as I've used a much prized piece of paper this week, and, shock horror, quite a few Thickers! They look so much better on layouts than getting dogeared in boxes don't they? I also dream of scrapping and reading through the day but it is my young children who prevent me getting on with things - shame really as I can see my room and my stash all day teasing me!
These papers are so gorgeous, one of my all time favs, and I really love how you've used them
