Reading

I love to read and so does Maddie.  Between the two of us we have four bookcases that are positively groaning under the weight of the books we have!
I always have 3 books on the go at any one time.  I love to read books on my Kindle.
Just as much as I love to hold a real book and read it.  I love the feeling of opening a brand new book just as much as I love the feeling of opening a pre-loved booked.
I always have two book marks in a book, one to mark the page I'm on and one to mark the page I want to be on by the end of the day.  This is a method Maddie uses to keep her reading on schedule, she divides the pages by the number of days she wants to take to read the book to get her daily total.  It's a method that really works for me if I find I'm neglecting a paper book.
I also listen to books using Audible.  This allows me to 'read' while I'm on one of my many walks or when I'm in the car driving down to Paul's.

When I was younger I read the Enid Blyton books and I still own many of them.  The one book from my childhood that has always stayed with me and has always made me smile when I think of it though is this one:
It's a younger fiction book with an age range of 7-9 years and it made me laugh out loud.  It's the story of a class of school children who go out for the day and the adventure that happens when they get caught up in a bank robbery. If you've got kids (or even if you haven't) then read it :)

I'll be using my blog to share the books I've read and would recommend to others because that's the way I found great authors that are new to me.

Thanks for stopping by

I really enjoyed reading this. I've always been an Enid Blyton fan too. I didn't listen at Library School when we were told to recommend other authors! The St Clare books were my favourites. And Naughtiest Girl. I'm looking forward to seeing what you read this year.

I loved St Clares and Mallory Towers and my daughter did too. Mr Pink-Whistle was my favourite as a child though. I've yet to start a new book this year. I'll look forward to seeing what you recommend.
