A New Week but Same Ole Rubbish!

Just a quick post as I dash out of the door to win my fortune at bingo....yeah right!

I didn't enjoy the cybercrop as much as I wanted to because I was so ill, I did manage to get a few layouts done and earn a few points to help my team come second though so it wasn't all bad.  I also, while battling with a headache from hell, managed to get the grass cut but at least Mum invited us over for a lovely roast dinner so I didn't have to cook.

I did this layout a few weeks ago but forgot to take some pictures of it, I can't believe I forgot because it's one of my favourites.  Maddie looking like Pocahontas, it is my most favourite picture of her, I think she looks so beautiful and so happy.  The only trouble is that it was taken using a mobile phone so it doesn't print very well, never mind, that wasn't going to stop me scrapping it:
My heart skips a beat everytime I look at this, how soppy am I?!?!

It's one of the few pictures I have of her without her glasses on.

And I just love the flowers on it.

Gotta go, I can hear the balls warming up and it'll soon be time for eyes down.  I'll let you know just how much I didn't win! :o) x

Cybercrop Weekend

I have really been looking forward to the cybercrop over at UKScrappers and can't believe that I've also been invited to three BBQs, a Cockney Night and to visit a friend who's down from up north!  I'm never usually such a social butterfly but, while the weather's nice, I think I'm going to go out and do as much as I can.  That doesn't mean I won't be getting on with classes and challenges though, it just means I'll have to cut out sleep and make it up during work hours next week :o)

Here's a layout I threw together of my niece and Mads.  They look so alike, act so alike and can sulk and strop so alike too!
I very nearly had "Not Sisters" as the title. They are certainly both so beautiful and I managed to get some great photos of them having a fit of giggles last night, can't wait to scrap them.

Used my new Martha Stewart round the page ring punch, I really love her punches.

The papers are from the Sarah's Cards March kits, the papers weren't what I'd normally go for but I love the layouts I've done with them.

Right, cybercrop is kicking off right now so I'm off to see what the first class is.......Maddie if you read this then just be warned......don't hold your breath for dinner! he he he x

Sunny Saturday

I've been so busy, well more like a social butterfly, this week so no blogging.  I went to bingo and finally had a win, I won a whole £3.33........I won't let it change me though, I'll still be well grounded!

It's a beautiful day here today but at 6:30 this morning there was a thick fog, my car was covered in a rusty coloured dust so I don't know if the fog was caused by the volcanic ash passing over the country.  I'm pleased I don't have to fly anywhere but feel sorry for the people stranded, I know on the last day of my holiday I blow all my money so I would be stuck if I had to spend extra days away.

My car failed it's MOT, 2 tyres were need at a cost of £90.  I would have enjoyed spending the £90 far more if it had been on stash.

I've also been busy sorting out my bedroom so that I now have a lovely craft area in there just for me and I love it, no more sharing the dining table so I'm hoping to get lots more things made.

Here are a couple of layouts I did with the March Sarah's Cards Kit

I love Peter Pan and the thought of never growing old and we had a lovely day in London which included going to see the Peter Pan statue.  We also went to see the Elfin Tree, if you've never seen it then go.  I'm working on a layout of it at the moment.

I love my Martha Stewart round the page loop punch

Maddie looking all grown up, she's actually gone out today, to the cinema with a friend and it's so quiet at home lol

I'm going to spend the rest of the day scrapping, I've been looking forward to it all week  xx

A Great Weekend

I had such a fantastic weekend.  Friday at work ended with the whole company getting together for a drink which was a great end to the day.

Saturday the sun was shining, I was going to a crop and Maddie was actually going out.  Yes it's true, not just going out of her bedroom but right out of the front door.  I had to tell my Mum to sit down before I broke the news to her because Maddie never goes out at the weekend.

The crop was lots of fun, we had a baby shower for one of the girls and we all had a flutter on the Grand National.  As usual I didn't win, my horse threw it's jockey before the off and then, after the jockey had managed to get back on, refused to move.....thanks Dad but King John's Castle was a pants horse!

I had set myself the ambitious target of doing five layouts at the crop, way too many but I did manage to get two done.  I did the from the Gotta Craft's April Kit, it's just lush.

Maddie has always wanted to be a pirate and when I saw this picture of her standing in front of the pirate ship at Disney I thought that, maybe, that's where the idea started.  She's since told me she wanted to be a pirate long before that!

I think I was very conservative with the buttons on this one!

Another Disney shot and lots more buttons this time.

and one of my favourite Thickers alphabets - fabric.

I was going to say that today was a lazy day but then I remembered I got up, did the ironing, hoovering and housework.  I popped over to see a friend who's recently moved and it was lovely to catch up over a brew and cake.  Got home cooked a roast and then did more scrapping........shame the weekend's almost over.

Oh What A Beautiful Day

The weather has been fantastic today so I really didn't want to be stuck in the office but heyho I need the money to buy more gorgeous stash............like I haven't got enough already! (stash that is not money)

Got home and spent some time in the garden with Alfie and then one of my thoughtful neighbours saw that we all had windows open and washing out so they decided to treat us all to a bonfire.  Don't you just love people like that, I always want to say to them "Hey when's it my turn to hold the axle so that the world can revolve around me?"  There was a moment that I thought they were going to catch their fence alight and Alfie was going mad, he must have been a firefighter in a past life.

Talking of Alfie and past lives, I honestly think he used to be a dolphin.  Ok so he hates water but I discount that, the thing he loves most and the thing that makes me think of a dolphin is..............he loves to have his tongue tickled! How weird is that, he can sit there for hours with my hand in his mouth stroking his tongue :o)

Here are some scrapping delights that I've been working on recently. They're both from page kits that Sandra, of Gotta Craft fame, made us for a Thursday crop.  She really does look after us and it's lovely to not have to sort out stuff for the crop after a hard day at work, I just grab my tote and go.

Maddie with another friend, a sheep.  You wouldn't get away with getting that close to a sheep now, health and safety would probably stop it.

More flowers and buttons

I love these fabric Thickers, in fact I just love all Thickers

This one is of  the Walled Garden in Bushy Park.  I'd been going to Bushy Park near Hampton Court for about 30 years before I ever knew it was there.  It's tucked away in the middle and it's like Teletubby land with lots of rabbits, ducks, a stream and even a totum pole! Great for picnics

How great would it be to have a real button tree?!

Enough rambling from me but one thought to ponder on if you have nothing better to do.....why is there always a Lottery Rollover on a Bank Holiday, at Christmas or when the Grand National's on?  It's almost as if it's a fix because those are the times people are more relaxed and more in the mood to have a flutter on a Lottery ticket.  Can you tell I love conspiracy theories???

More Rain.......Like we really need it!

What a difference a day makes, another wet day today just in case we were starting to forget what it's like!

I have a bit of a headache today and here's why

They are digging up the road outside my office and have been for a couple of weeks now. Only another eight weeks to go and it's no fun I can tell you! A weird thing I noticed was that now, sitting at my desk, I can feel the vibrations of the trains that go by (I work right next to a railway station) and I'm wondering if it's got something to do with the massive holes they've been digging. I just hope it doesn't all collapse and leave me sitting amongst a pile of rubble.

Alfie didn't get to go to the park today and that's probably a good thing because he destroyed his ball yesterday

It's flat as a pancake now so I need to invest in a new one, unless he should happen to come across an abandoned one in the park, which is usually the case. I think that's because most dog owners don't trek for miles to collect a ball because their dogs won't fetch them......I walk miles because I'm as mad as my dog LOL

Footie's on tonight so I shall enjoy a soak in the bath with my Julie Walters book, she is SO funny. x

Super Sunny Spring Day

So the weekend was a washout but as soon as I step back in the office the sun puts his hat on and comes out to play.......not fair! I did have a lovely walk in the park with the dogs after work so it wasn't all bad.

I didn't have any luck at bingo last night, just there to make the numbers up as usual.  I think I'll purchase a lottery ticket in a minute and see if I fare any better with that.

Here are another couple of layouts from the Sarah's Cards March Kit.

My nephews, it's not until I see them photographed like this that I realise how alike their facial expressions are.

Lots of buttons this time but I think they look so good on kids layouts, especially when the subject of the layout is the male species LOL

The next layout is of a day we had at Legoland, I really wanted to go on the cars and drive round the little town but age was against me.  I don't remember ever having something like that around when I was growing up, we went to a zoo when it was a zoo and only had animals and a little train going around it!

I look at Maddie in this picture and wonder when the smile went and the scowl arrived, when she became a teenager I guess.  To be fair to her we do have a laugh when nobody's around but it's not often the camera catches it.

As usual there are more flowers

Tonights interuption of CSI Tuesday is purely for Sandra's benefit so she can see I can keep up with blogging :o)

Ooh, ooh, ooh, I got a lovely parcel today from Sarah's Card.  I managed to get one of the grab boxes and it's gorgeous, I'll take a picture tomorrow so you can see all of the lovely things I got and just in time for my crop on Saturday.......result

Where Does The Time Go???

I can't believe that it's been such a long time since I posted on here. Just as I'm getting into a routine at work the clocks change and seem to throw me all out again!  My day's been starting a six with a game of football over the park with Alfie, he enjoys it and it sure wakes me up.....since the clocks leapt forward I haven't been able to drag myself out of bed quite so easily though!

I've been making sure that there is plenty of crafting time in my life, it's great that my new boss is also a scrapbooker and we're always exchanging tips and best buys in the office now.

I managed another couple of layouts from the Sarah's Cards February Kit:

This picture was taken at a Scout's Raft Race, I have no idea where Maddie got the alien from though!

Maddie is not always a people person, she normally alienates people, hence the title which did make her laugh

When I took the next picture, I very nearly had a hairbrush thrown at my head!  Now that she's a full on teenager I only venture into the room in extreme emergencies

I'm still loving buttons on layouts....

......and flowers

There were no Easter Egg hunts here this year, Maddie doesn't really like them and it would have been no fun looking for eggs by myself.

I'm hoping to win my fortune at bingo tonight, no doubt I'll come home with a ligher purse and a heavier heart lol
