Crochet Mood Blanket 2015

Last year I start a year long project, you can read about it here.  It was to crochet a square a day for a blanket and each colour used would be determined by my mood.

I got stuck in straight away on 1st January with my favourite colour:

And gradually it grew:

And grew:

Sometimes Maddie or Paul would pick the colours I used but most of the time I picked them myself.

The blanket now has 20 rows and 18 columns, 360 squares in total.  The last 5 days were made up of borders and I added the last stitch on 31st December using gold yarn:

I kept to a small, plain border:

With a little bit of detail for the corners:

And each day I made a note of the colour I used and why I used it in my little notebook:

And here it is in it's full glory:

And here I am feeling very proud of what I achieved:

Would I do it again?.......Nope!  I'm pleased that it got me doing something crafty every day but it did add a tiny bit of pressure.

Now I'm wondering just what will replace it in 2016.

Crochet Mood Blanket Week Thirty

It's been such a long time since I gave an update on my crochet mood blanket that you may have thought it was another project of mine that had slipped to the wayside....wrong!

I'm still getting on with it and enjoying the 10 minutes a day that it takes me to add a square and sew the ends in.

It's not a great picture but here's how it's looking now, 210 bursts of colour :)

I'm so pleased with it and because I've been good and joined as I go it means it's usable, something which Maddie was pleased about the other evening when she was chilly.

I won't leave it so long for the next update and will take a better photo.

Crochet Mood Blanket Week Nineteen

The evenings have been a bit chilly here this week so it's been lovely to work on my blanket.  Here are the colours for week nineteen:

Day 127 - Lime, I had a massive weight gain :(

Day 128 - Turquoise, I had a great day and was really happy :)

Day 129 - Magenta, I spent the day at the crop and had a win at bingo in the evening :)

Day 130 - Spring Green, it was a lovely day so I went for a long walk and cut the grass :)

Day 131 - Saffron, another gorgeous, sunny day :)

Day 132 - Violet, I had a nice day and went for a really long walk in the evening :)

Day 133 - Pomegranate, I went out to dinner with my best friend and her daughter :)

I love how colours clash and blend depending on where they are placed :)

Rain here today so I might have silver as my next colour!

Crochet Mood Blanket Week Eighteen

Another week has gone and another set of colours have been added to my blanket, including some new colours purchased this week.

Day 120 - Grape, although I has a small weight gain I still had a good day. This square marks the one third point of the blanket! (the last five days will be borders)

Day 121 - Camel, I went to the seaside to visit Paul :)

Day 122 - Sage (new colour), a day of shopping and visiting family :)

Day 123 - Gold (new colour), I had a lazy day and got a new Pandora charm :)

Day 124 - Lipstick, we walked to the beach to watch Bourbemouth FC parade with the Chanpions League Cup :)

Day 125 - Mocha (new colour), it was a cold, rainy day but I had a win at bingo :)

Day 126 - Aster, it was really windy, cold and rainy today :(

And this is how the blanket looks on my bed

Crochet Mood Blanket Week Seventeen

It is amazing how quickly the weeks goes when you're working on a daily project throughout the year! Here are the colours added to my blanket this week:

Day 113 - Spring Green, I had a good day and a weight loss :)

Day 114 - Aster, a great day, Nandos for lunch and a family meet up in the evening :)

Day 115 - Magenta, another great day, lunch with a friend, BBQ with the family and bingo :)

Day 116 - Silver, a cold, rainy day :(

Day 117 - Pomegranate, a good day and I was feeling happy :)

Day 118 - Lipstick, cinema night with my girl to see Avengers :)

Day 119 - Sherbet, a wet and cold day but a sunny evening and a nice walk :)

The monster is getting harder to photo the bigger it gets but I'm still loving it :)

I can look at certain squares and know how I was feeling and I can remember exactly which one was my starting square.

I've decided to buy a few more colours to add to my stash and to mix things up a bit.

Crochet Mood Blanket Week Sixteen

Another week and some more colours of the rainbow added to my blanket. Here's where the mood took me this week:

Day 106 - Petrol, I felt really ill with a cold but was pleased to maintain at slimming :)

Day 107 - Saffron, I went to the seaside to see Paul :)

Day 108 - Lime, breakfast at Frieda's and a very windy day!

Day 109 - Aspen, a really gorgeous, sunny day :)

Day 110 - Raspberry, I had a good day and a fun night at bingo with the girls :)

Day 111 - Citron, another sunny day and feeling good despite a visit to the doctor :)

Day 112 - Violet, a very busy, hot day!

It's a lot cooler and the sky is grey here today so I might have already picked my next colour :)

Crochet Mood Blanket Week Fifteen

Another week of hooking has passed in this project that I am still loving so much!  What do the colours represent this week though?

Day 99 - Grey, I had a really bad day at the office :(

Day 100 - (wow, my first milestone!) Citron, it was Friday and the sun was shining :)

Day 101 - Spice, I went to my local crop and had a really good day :)

Day 102 - Turquoise, it was another gorgeous day and I spent a lot of it in the garden with Alfie :)

Day 103 - Copper, I felt really ill (and I still do) :(

Day 104 - Lipstick, I got a gum boil :(

Day 105 - Sherbet, it was a really hot day and I spent the evening in the garden :)

And here she is, Big Bertha :)

I was worried I was using too much blue, well it is my favourite colour, but when I look at the blanket as a whole I think it's fine.
